Meet the 'Misfits!'

Galleta:

Galleta came up to Minnesota after he was found as a stray with bullet fragments in his abdomen on the streets of Texas. He had sores all over his back legs from dragging his legs around, was underweight, but had so much love to give. He came to Minnesota where it was discovered that he was also Heartworm positive - so that had to be dealt with first. He didn't much appreciate crate rest, but once he was cleared for activity, he showed up he was ready to run.  He went through many physical therapy sessions to build up his endurance and muscle mass to get him ready for his wheelchair - and then the big day came to get fit for his wheels!

Now that he has his wheels, he can do just about anything he puts his mind to. This guy has no idea his physical limitations and is an amazing ambassador that shows his differences only make him that much more loveable.

Today, Galleta is ZOOMING around in his cart and absolutely loves having the ability to play ball and chase after it.  He does scent training and loves to swim, too!  He’s been in foster care since December 2020 waiting for his forever!

Milo:

Introducing, Milo! The sweet loving American Eskimo mix from Albania who unfortunately suffers from an autoimmune condition that has resulted in him being almost completely hairless. When he arrived at Border Tails Rescue, he was covered in open sores and scabs from his body attacking itself, resulting in a very uncomfortable condition. Our medical team is continuously monitoring him while he waits for his forever home in foster, and so far, regular steroid injections are proving to be very successful in healing his skin. We're not sure if he will ever have a full body of fur, but we know that he can be treated to the point where he can live a comfortable life, allowing him to already show his foster family the happy boy he has always been. Milo is looking for a home that will continue to shower him with the love he's always known he deserves. He is dog, cat, and small animal friendly, and sure to make any family incredibly happy!

Harold and Getrude:

Say hello to Harold & Gertrude, the adorable bonded pair who were found as strays by the police, who took them to an animal hospital before bringing them to Border Tails Rescue. They were diagnosed with a very severe case of mange, to the point where Harold was mainly bald, and Gertrude was missing all the fur down her back. We started them on treatment to get them both on the road to recovery, and found a foster who was willing to give them a safe and loving home while they healed. Based on their overall temperament and nervous nature, we believe they were more than likely neglected, and they required a patient, quiet home to go into to learn that there are people who want to shower them with the love they had to give. We believe that Gertrude may be Harold's mom, as she is very protective of him and follows him wherever he goes. Harold is still a little nervous, though both have been gaining so much trust and confidence while in foster, and Gertrude certainly acts as his number one support system. These two have so much love to give and are learning that the right people have lots of love to give them right back - and we know that their right people are out there waiting to gift them with their forever home!

Porky:

Porky has been part of Pup Culture Rescue for two years. He was surrendered to a shelter when his backyard breeder was not able to make a profit off of him due to his incontinence. He has a mild neurological issue that affects the strength in his hind legs, but it doesn't slow him down at all! He still loves to run around and play with his foster dog siblings. Porky wears diapers, but he doesn't mind them one bit and they have become an easy routine. Although he needs special care, we know Porky's forever home is out there. His goofy personality and good looks are worth the extra effort that comes along with adopting him. Bulldog lovers, look no further than Porky!

Bebe:

Bebe is a 75-pound lovable loaf. He is the ultimate couch potato, always up for a lazy afternoon cuddle. Bebe was left on the streets after his family moved. He wound up being hit by a car and suffered hind-end paralysis. His former neighbors found him and called our rescue to help, and our community came together to get Bebe the care he needed. Nowadays, aside from a slight wobble, he walks and runs nearly as well as any other dog. Bebe is really just a big baby who craves being close to his people. He’s as loyal as they come, always by your side and eager for head rubs. After being abandoned by his first family, Bebe has developed a bit of separation anxiety and needs a loving, patient home.

Bo:

Meet Bo, a lovable boy whose journey began in March 2020 when he found his forever home. Unfortunately, life took an unexpected turn, and Bo's owner passed away, leading this beloved boy back into our care once again. Bo is an outgoing and friendly companion who adores being the center of attention. While he thrives in human companionship, he tends to be less sociable with other dogs and cats. But he's a well-rounded dog and would be great for a first-time pet owner or home without other furry friends. Bo walks well on a leash, is fully house-trained, loves car rides, and will curl up beside you at the end of the day. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a canine companion, Bo might just be the loyal friend you've been searching for.

Mo and Jo:

These adorable siblings, are double merle, and totally deaf. Mo, and Jo were the product of unethical merle to merle breeding practices and their breeder was planning to drown them before our kind hearted teenager agreed to take them in and get them to rescue.
