Crocs for Dogs: Fit and Size Guide!

Crocs for Dogs: Fit and Size Guide!

Now your fave dog-walking shoes fit your dog too — introducing Crocs™ for dogs! If you’re thinking, “I would LOVE to get these for my dog, but I don’t know where to start?” Don’t worry. Buying dog shoes isn’t something most people are familiar with, but we’re here to help!

How to find the right size:

We designed three flexible sizes to fit most dog paws. However, every paw is a different shape and size, and not all paws may fit into these sizes. You can find the best fit using the instructions below.

How to measure your dog’s paw:

  1. Grab a pencil and a piece of paper.
  2. Place your dog’s paw on the piece of paper.
  3. Mark the back of the paw pad, the tip of the longest claw, and the left and right of the paw pads
  4. To find the paw length, measure from the bottom of the paw pad to the tip of the front toenail.
  5. To find the paw width, measure from the left of the paw pad to the right of the pad pad.
  6. Find the best size for your dog’s paws using the Paw Size Chart. Keep in mind you can use the adjustable strap to secure the shoe and adapt for comfort.

How to put them on:

Simply slide your dog’s paw into the shoe, making sure the dewclaw is tucked in. We recommend giving them a stretch with your hands to loosen them up before actually putting them on your dog’s feet. Once the paw is in place, you can use the adjustable strap to comfortably secure the shoe. Keep in mind that toenail length may affect comfort.

Tips for Crocs Success:

  1. Work 'Em In:

Let's get those Crocs ready for action! Give them a good squish and squeeze with your hands to soften up the sole. This is super important for dogs who might not have the heft to work them in on their own. Your hands-on prep can make all the difference in getting those Crocs comfy in no time!

  1. Slow and Steady Paws:

Begin the Crocs journey indoors, where it’s safe and familiar. Pop those Crocs on for just a couple of minutes at first. Then, take things outside for mini adventures, slowly ramping up the wear time. Remember, keep it playful with treats and toys to shift their minds from "What are these on my paws?" to "These shoes mean we are going to have fun!"

  1. Pause and Inspect:

During the first few wears, take a moment to inspect the Crocs for any rubbing or discomfort. Check the fit and the strap tightness regularly to ensure those stylish Crocs stay secure and comfy.

  1. Consider Socks:

Doggy socks are like the secret sauce to comfort - they provide a soft, wicking layer that sits snugly between the paw and the shoe, ensuring an even smoother experience. They also play defense, protecting those precious dew claws.

  1. Fit Matters:

Securing the perfect fit in your dog’s Crocs is crucial—they should stay upright and comfy. The strap should clasp just right, not too loose and not too tight, with enough room for natural paw movements, but no extra wiggle room. Grab our Paw Measurement Chart to get the sizing spot on—each paw can be a little different, so measure them all!

  1. The Crocs Shuffle:

Get your camera ready for the first-time Crocs shuffle! Most dogs will give you a funny high-step dance as they get used to their new footwear. Stay calm and giggle on the inside (pups can be a tad sensitive)! With some love and lots of treats, they'll soon be walking like pros.
